NEW Component: Repeater Component (Beta)

Repeater component enables users to repeat a set of components at run time. For example, Repeater component can be used to log multiple cases for an account. When a user runs the flow and reaches the screen, the user can add as many cases as needed. You can then loop through the component to save the list of contacts or use it later in the flow

To use repeater component in a flow:

Open a Screen element and add Repeater component

Add the child components to the repeater component

Add a loop element to iterate through the repeater component cases

Add an Assignment component inside the loop to set the values of the new case variable

Add an Assignment component inside the loop to add the new case a the case collection variable

Create the cases in the case collection

Activate the flow and then add it in an action on the Account object

Add the new action in the record page

Open an account

Click new action button

Enter the case information and click add to log another case or remove to remove one

Click Next to create the cases

This feature is a Beta Service. Customer may opt to try such Beta Service in its sole discretion. Any use of the Beta Service is subject to the applicable Beta Services Terms provided at Agreements and Terms

New Search Field by Google Maps in the Address Screen Component

Include in the Address screen component a search field powered by Google Maps so when the user selects an address in the search field, the flow will populates the address fields. The new search field is not supported in Playground, Experience Builder sites, Lightning Out, Lightning Components for Visualforce, and standalone apps

To use search field in a flow:

Open a Screen element and add Address component

Set the following parameters on the Address component Show Google Maps Search Field to TRUE will enable search filed for the component

Google Maps Search Field Label with the name you want to appear as the label of the search field

When a user reaches the screen and starts typing the address in the search field, matching address will become available. Selecting an address will update the relevant address fields.

Require User Input in the Address Screen Component

Enable Required field on the Address component to require from users to fill in the address fields before navigating to the next screen. Setting the Required field to true will display a red asterisk next to the label of each input fields in the component.

To make address fields required in a flow:

Open a Screen element and add Address component

Set the Required field to a Boolean value such as {!$GlobalConstant.True} or to a formula resource that evaluates to true

When a user reaches the screen, all address fields must be filled to navigate further.

Update Choices on a Screen in Real Time with Reactive Collection Choice Sets

Screen components that accept Collection Choice Set resources as inputs can now react to changes in other components on the same screen.

Example: use the output of a Data Table component to populate a collection choice set resource on the same screen

To build the reactive screen:

Create a screen flow, and add a Screen element to it

In the Screen element, add and configure the component that will be the source for the reactive interaction. In our example, add and configure a Data Table component that displays a list of contact names and its mailing cities for the user to choose from

Add and configure the choice lookup component that will react to changes in the Data Table component. The choices of the choice lookup component will be a Collection Choice Set with: Collection the selected rows of the data table

Choice Label the Mailing City

Data Type set to Text

Choice Value set to Mailing City

Save and run the flow

Troubleshoot Screen Flows Faster with More Detailed Error Messages

Runtime error messages in screen flows now include more details to help you troubleshoot issues such as network connection problems, reactivity issues, and exceeded character limits in Lightning web components

Previously: error messages provided generic troubleshooting recommendations such as Hmm, that didn't work. Check your internet connection and try again, or refresh the page

Now: error messages include the cause of any errors in addition to the recommendations

Example: when the client sends Salesforce an incompatible navigation action, the resulting error message includes this detail: `Action not available for interview: NEXT`

Restrict User Input on Screen Components with the Disabled and Read Only Fields

Two new fields introduced to specify how users interact with screen components. When the Disabled field is set to true , users can’t navigate to or modify any fields in the component. A gray background appears on the input fields in the component to provide users with a visual cue When the Read Only field is set to true , users can’t modify any fields in the component. However, they can navigate to and copy values

To make a field disabled or read only:

Create a screen flow, and add a Screen element to it

Include one or more components with the Disabled or Read Only field

Set Disabled or Read Only fields to true

Save and run the flow

Update Records Using the State and Country Codes Selected in Address Screen Components

Address screen component now includes two new fields that store the ISO code for the country or territory and state or province that a user selects. You can now use the ISO codes to update the country or territory and state or province fields on records with ISO codes instead of names

To use State and Country Codes in Address component:

Ensure that Enable Picklists for Address Fields is enabled on the State and Country/Territory Picklists page in Setup

Create a screen flow, and add a Screen element to it

Add an Address component to the screen element

Use the StateCode and CountryCode values from the Address component to update or create records

Save and run the flow

NEW Component: Action Button Component (Beta)

Action Button component can be now added to screen flows to run and retrieve information from an active autolaunched flow without leaving the screen. The component renders a button that invokes the flow when clicked

Example: a screen component that will include a Lookup component enabling users to search for and select one or more account records. Clicking action button on the screen will retrieve all related to these accounts opportunities and and display on the opportunities data table on the same screen

To use new action button:

Create a autolaunched flow that retrieves the account(s) and saves the related opportunities as one or more outputs

Create a screen flow, and add a Screen element to it

Include a lookup component that will hold the account(s)

Include an Action Button on the screen and configure it to launch the autolaunched flow with input the IDs of the accounts that the user selected in the lookup component

Add a Data Table component to the Screen element what will display the list of Opportunity records returned by the Action Button component

Save and run the flow
